A young Long Beach, CA family decided on playful touches for this modest ranch kitchen remodel. Pops of bold colors on the custom Dacor range and the animal themed wallpaper by Z Gallery, bring joy and personality. At the same time, the custom cherry cabinets and the white subway tiles by Tile bar anchor the classic look with a modern touch.
Refinishing the original hardwood floors and designing around a Boosblock cart were some of the homeowner’s requests. Aesthetically, the dark slab cabinet doors and the Caesarstone Rugged Concrete countertops provide the simple backdrop to do so. Belwith Keeler brushed brass hardware adorn the doors giving a bit of flare, while the Restoration Hardware lighting display a modern yet slightly industrial touch.
Simple yet giving depth to the walls are white subway tiles and acacia wood shelves that are dressed with the homeowner’s unique and personal pottery. The star of the room is by far the orange range, though the Rohl sink and faucets offer equal utility. Finishing the room is a custom hood housing a Zephyr liner that ventilates for both hefty holiday cooking or everyday 30-minute meals - fulfilling all the needs of a classic family kitchen.
