Design Studio on 2nd is an award winning team of designers, architects, structural engineers, and builders. After beginning her career as a kitchen designer over 20 years ago, owner Monica Ledesma continues to establish our Long Beach based company with a portfolio of residential work up and down the coast.
We are not stylistically bond, and instead pride ourselves on servicing our Clients down the often ambitious yet always rewarding path of design and construction. We work closely with Client’s on space planning, design direction, engineering, materials, construction, and overall budget. With fresh perspective and creative thinking, DS2 projects are created with our Clients’ needs and desires at the forefront. Our goal is not only to make beautiful, luxury spaces, but to also build environments for making memories and living out the best parts of life.
our personal approach
Each new project is unique. If you are ready to do a remodel and don't know where to start, we are ready to jump in and guide you! We run each project in similar phases of services tailored to a typical construction schedule and flow. However, each design and concept is specific to a Client's needs, desires, schedule, and budget. Regardless of a project's timeline, the site limitations, or the desired look and feel, DS2 will personalize the design to your specific project.
A design project is a collective effort. Understanding the Clients' needs, managing their expectations, and thinking outside of the box are most fulfilled by the team work of a talented and reliable group. Monica fell in love with design at a very young age. With her grandmother being an amazing Architect and Kitchen Designer, she was inspired at a young age to follow in her footsteps.
Monica has over 20 years of experience in the design-build industry. After a decade of successfully operating Monica Ledesma Design, she opened up Design Studio on 2nd in her own neighborhood of Naples Island. Being a Long Beach native, this is a dream come true. Creating beautiful spaces one home at a time!

After years of managing hospitality design projects in New York City, Marquita jumped into the SoCal residential scene in 2016. She is always excited by a new space plan and thrilled at chances to splash color and explore character in any space.
Marquita's appreciation for large development projects and her passion for intimate, unique spaces, brings a creative design approach to the Design Studio on 2nd team.

viviana quintero
Viviana was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. From a young age, Viviana wanted to move to the US and pursue a degree and career in interior design. Traveling inspires her creativity and passion for all things architectural.
Since graduating from California State University Long Beach in 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture, Viviana combines her studies and internship experience in both residential and commercial design to bring fresh ideas and a variety of perspectives to DS2 projects.
